Sagittarius New Moon
This is a gorgeous, expansive, BIG new moon. This new moon is happening at 1 degree Sagittarius, so it has that “new beginning” energy to the max. We are just now moving out of Scorpio season and eclipse season. We are finally coming up and out of the underworld with this expansive, fiery sign. And, we can finally feel the puzzle pieces coming together.
In Scorpio season and the eclipse season, the energy very much shattered us and our lives. We could have felt that in our physical reality, in our relationships or within ourselves. We were being broken down so that we can be built up again, even better, newer, truer. And, we very possibly felt quite stagnant or stuck for the last month. The energy could have felt very heavy and intense and we may not have known which way to turn. Or, perhaps we had some big realizations about ourselves or our lives but we don’t actually know how to put them into action. This is the time that is finally going to start to shift.
And, it may not happen all at once. Sometimes, in the rebirth, we need to continue to excavate ourselves. We still have some shadow-work energy at play. The US is still in its Pluto return, Mars (our planet of motivation, drive, passion, and forward directions) is in retrograde in Gemini (the sign of the mind), and we have asteroid Kali, conjunct Uranus and the North Node. Woah. It’s alright if you aren’t super familiar with astrology and you don't know what that means, don’t worry. Pluto is the God of the Underworld, and he’s getting majorly re-worked and upgraded, for the entire country. BIG shadow work as a collective. Our planet of action and drive is getting reworked in the mind-space. And then we have a major ego-slayer, major soul awakener, conjunct the planet of radical change and transformation.
This is all very big. So you may be experiencing this rebirth and awakening energy, as a continuation of the excavation process you’ve been in. However, you’re being supported by a lot of beautiful energies. Sagittarius energy is very hopeful and expansive. It wants to know itself through the world. It deals with travel, philosophy, higher education and learning, new experiences, play, and spiritual seeking. It asks the question, “what more is out there?” And in the sign of Sag, we have the sun, moon, Venus and Mercury. Venus is the planet of love, beauty and values. And Mercury is the planet of the mind, communication and processing. These two planets speak to the beauty of our stories. The stories we are told and tell ourselves. For me, personally, I have been watching a lot of documentaries and seeking out story-tellers, because that is the way that I want to engage with and learn from life. I want to be told stories. And this is a time for us to be aware of the stories we are telling ourselves. Do they need to be reworked in some way? But, having all of these planets in Sag really gives the feeling of hope and big vision.
Listen for the subtle signs and cues from the universe. Listen to that song stuck in your head, pick up that book from your shelf that you keep looking at. AND, TRY NEW THINGS. If there’s something that you’ve been really wanting to do, but you haven’t been because you are afraid of the judgment that might come from others in your life, do it right now. Sag wants to try new things, and if you’re feeling called to something, that means there’s something there for you. So take that class, or whatever it is, because you have no idea what could be there for you.
Jupiter is trining this new moon, as well. Jupiter is the planet of expansion and luck. Jupiter just stationed direct, after his retrograde, back into Pisces. Jupiter is very happy in Pisces, the sign of spirituality, dreams and unconscious realms. And, Jupiter’s home sign is Sagitarrius. So Jupiter is adding another major boost to this hopeful, lucky, expansive moon. We are beginning to “walk the walk” after a whole month of transformation and change. Now we are stepping out of the cave and it’s time for us to embody these shifts that have taken place.
Take some time to reflect on where you’ve come from. It’s very grounding and empowering to look back and acknowledge all that you’ve moved through. Look back at this past month - Scorpio and Eclipse season - and write down everything that happened for you. Sudden surprising events, big realizations, meltdowns and triggers, things you were thinking about or interested in. Look back and see everything that you’ve just moved through or that has taken place in your life. This will help inform you, moving forward. To know who we are, we have to look at where we’ve been. Also, this eclipse season is informing the next 6 months, so writing down everything you can remember from this time will serve you in the future.
Look at where 1 degree Sagittarius is in your chart, because the house and any planets sitting there will inform what part of yourself and your life is really being lit up by this new moon.
