What is Womb Continuum Care?

Womb Continuum Care is holistic womb care designed to support women from menarche to menopause and beyond.
This is for women, designed by women.
Womb Continuum Care combines traditional Mexican Abdominal therapy, Rolfing-inspired fascial work, Scar Tissue and adhesion work, Craniosacral therapy, and deep anatomical knowledge for a holistic, integrative approach to women’s care.

This is devotional care for the entire woman: focusing on the abdomen, pelvis, and uterus. A main focus of this work is to guide the uterus back to alignment at the midline. The uterus is the center-point of the female body, and when it is out of place, the entire body shifts with it.

An out of alignment uterus will impact blood and lymphatic flow through the body and compress the entire fascial chain. This can lead to pain and inflammation, and impact the healthy functioning of the uterus, including the menstrual cycle and fertility.

In a Womb Continuum care session, we are always present with and focused on the uterus. When we bring the uterus into alignment, the rest of the abdomen, abdominal organs, pelvis and pelvic organs can be guided back into proper alignment as well.

This work is designed to help the body come back into proper alignment.

In each session, the body is met with slowness and presence. Slow, sacred touch, deepening into the body layer by layer, to support physiological alignment. Each session is designed to help the body remember how to heal itself, and to help you land at home within yourself.

This is deep, physiological Homecoming.

 FAQs

  • Please come to your session with clean skin, free from any moisturizers, oils, or creams. If you are using HRT, you must come to the session without any HRT creams, gels, sprays, or patches on your body. Please do NOT use HRT transdermally the day of a session.
    Wear comfortable clothing.
Sessions require full presence, which means you must come to sessions fully sober from all substances, including alcohol, cannabis, psychedelics, psychiatric medications, and nicotine.

  • I recommend starting with 4 to 6 sessions if possible. Even one session will support your body and womb, but we’ll be able to bring greater change with more consistent work. This is deep intentional bodywork, and meeting the body consistently to integrate the changes we make in each session is ideal. An exact number of sessions will depend on what your body is moving through and needing support with.
Initial sessions are 2 hours, and follow up sessions can be booked for either 90 minutes or 2 hours. This allows us to take time with your body in each session, to drop in deeply and work with your tissues at a slow, devotional pace.

  • No, the purpose of this work is to shift the uterus back into alignment. This can shift an IUD, which we do not want to happen.

  • For the first trimester of pregnancy, let your body rest and grow. From the second trimester on, you can receive care.
Post birth, you can receive care as soon as you’re ready after a vaginal birth; wait 10-12 weeks or until the incision is healed if you have a C-section.

Sessions are available in Des Moines, IA and the surrounding area. You can come to my space or I am available to travel to you.

Womb care testimonials:

  • Hi Shannon, our whole session felt like a deep sigh of relief. I realized, how much tension I kept just to support the body in bad posture. And after session I noticed that I don't need anymore to sit and stay with curved back. And, surprisingly, my body was able to adjust and keep healthy position. And your presence in each and every minute of the session was so supportive to me. Thank you so much 🧡

  • Working with Shannon was truly such a joy. The tender parts, the intense sensations, the spectrum of emotion, the vulnerability, she held it all with so much warmth, curiosity, and openness. My body could then relax into that safety which only deepened the impact of the work. My pelvis feels so much more open and alive, with a much greater capacity for sensation and change.

  • I recently had a Womb Continuum session with Shannon and it was an absolutely transformative experience. From the moment the session began, I felt completely safe and held in her care. Shannon’s intuitive and skilled touch made a profound difference in my abdominal and pelvic area. Having previously undergone laparoscopic surgery, I had significant scar tissue and adhesions in my abdomen. Shannon’s deep, precise work helped release these adhesions and my belly felt much softer and more comfortable. I could actually feel my body shifting and relaxing during the session and she gently brought my intestines back to the midline, which had shifted to the right side, making a huge difference in my digestion. I am deeply grateful to Shannon for her expertise, care and the nurturing presence she brought to my session.
