Reclaiming WOMAN
This piece is for anyone who struggles with being “woman”. For anyone who feels uncomfortable with this word, with being called a woman, or with becoming a woman.
I have been there in my journey. I struggled with growing into womanhood. I felt like the word “woman” would never fit, so I called myself a girl for most of my twenties. “Woman” felt too formal, too grown up, too boundaried by societal expectations, too different from how I felt internally.
I find it interesting how social media trends reflect (or perhaps lead?) this movement of girlhood over womanhood. Trends like, “I’m just a girl.”
It’s like we’re being taught in real time to reject “woman”.
Instead, I invite you to reclaim “Woman” now.
To be woman is to be powerful.
To be woman is to hold creation in your bones.
To be woman is to be a cycle breaker of your lineage.
To be woman is to be a visionary of the new earth.
To be woman is to be the bridge between spirit and earth.
To be woman is to be a carrier of the medicine of the life death life cycle. Of the birth rebirth cycle.
To be woman is to be extraordinary. So why are you pushing that title away?
Let us reclaim Woman. Woman is not a dirty word. It’s a powerful prayer.
To be woman is to claim a birthright, to be a holder of the feminine. And to remember that all of us are holders of both masculine and feminine energies: celebrate them as sacred.
Masculine and feminine are not the same. They are not equal. They are not comparable. They are the yin and the yang, complementary and necessary for each other and holy in their difference.
Here and now, let us celebrate what it means to be woman. To grow up out of girl, out of maiden, and to become woman, mother, wild crone.
Let us celebrate what it means to pass down lineage to our children, to weave healing and creation in our sisterhoods.
Let us celebrate the portal of birth and rebirth that sits between our legs, the wholly divine pussy.
Let us celebrate the magic of the female body and the ability to create and grow life within.
Let us celebrate the art of women, the ideas and visions of women.
Let us celebrate the leadership of WOMAN, the roar of woman. Woman who leads the way forward for healing in our world.
When you’re sitting in the seat of girl, the idea that women must step up and lead us forward to a new earth can feel unfair. “Why should women have to do any more work to support or heal a world that men have ruined?” This is a sentiment I have seen many times on various forms of social media.
Stepping into Woman implies accepting accountability and harnessing responsibilities wherever they occur in our lives.
The nature of the feminine energy is that she creates. The feminine will always be the creatrix of the kind of world we want to live in. Claiming the Woman within initiates you to become a steward and voice of WOMAN, a way-shower and leader in birthing a new world. When you deny your inner feminine, your Woman when she’s ready to come out, you deny your power and responsibility to birth and create a new world.
Responsibility is sacred. Release responsibility as heaviness, embrace it as a divine mission.
Claiming Woman is an important part of the journey of becoming. Let yourself grow into your Woman if you’re not quite there yet, or let yourself embrace and become Woman if you’re ready for it.
To be Woman is to be multi-dimensional and indescribable.
To be Woman is a gift.
I hope these words inspire you to reclaim your Woman and your roar.
